The all women’s Big Hat Brunch: If I Knew Then, What I Know Now will bring together women from the younger generation and more experienced generation to facilitate encouraging and enlightening conversations among seasoned professionals and aspiring youth. With both panel and round table discussions, the Saturday afternoon lunch will highlight the importance of entrepreneurial ventures and leadership development for African-American women from urban communities.
Specifically, there are three pillars that will be explored during the gathering. The Big Hat Brunch seeks results through their respective objectives:
The Arts: Through positive exposure, the young women in attendance will be enlightened on non-traditional careers for women, furthering their opportunities and expanding their network
Education: Expose young women to career opportunities regardless of educational and socioeconomic barriers that may stand between potential and success.
Entrepreneurship: Encourage the importance of and endless possibilities for businesses owned by women within our communities, by highlighting the importance of higher education.
