Bridal Essentials:The Season’s Dreamiest Looks in Bridal Wear

This season’s bridal dresses are homage to elegance, drama, and romance. Bridal runways were overflowing with nontraditional hem lines, pastel floral hues, high necklines, low bare backs, and the new daring color palette of reds. Perhaps you are the bride-to-be or you’re just a guest at a host of weddings this summer like myself, either way here are the top trends of what is now, wow, and next in bridal wear.

Vintage Hollywood Glam

Inspired by 1920’s legendary starlets like Rita Hayworth, Dorothy Dandridge, and Greta Garbo this charming bridal trend is most divine because of its seductive fabrics and silhouettes. Right on trend as breathtaking fashions in the newest version of The Great Gatsby designers have rebirthed the film noir themed dresses with sensual silk gowns, regal chiffon, and heavy charmeuse fabrics to drape brides in this season. The exposure of necklines, shoulders, and backs transform any bride from traditional to vintage glam.

Step up your wow factor like a style star with Art Deco jewels made from crystal and onyx. Layers of pearls, lace, and crystal beading will on enhance your bridal look on your momentous day as you take center stage.

Perfect Pastels

The timeless appeal cotton candy colored gowns are bound to capture any woman’s inner princess for her big day. Pastels work perfectly for daytime summer weddings as they capture the innocence and femininity of any bride. This is the perfect way to modernize a traditional gown silhouette with a unique custom color. Bring on the Ladure Macarons, mint frosted cupcakes, and peach corsages for your dress inspiration. Who knew the dessert table could revamp a blushing brides wedding theme and set such a romantic tone.

Sheer Details

Sheer details are classic and complement most wedding themes. For the bride who may think bare skin is just too risky for her taste, sheer illusion creates a more sophisticated elegance of style. The mystery of illusion sleeves, backs, and necklines can be customized with intricate embroideries and beading that will wow your guest. Detailing of the peek-a-boo fabric can even have feathers for an ultra glam look or layers of lace for the modern vintage inspired bride.

Regal Necklines

High necklines also dominated the bridal runways this season and with the perfect hairstyle we can certainly understand why. If you are over the predictable sweetheart necklines and halter straps then you may love this style. This look is perfection for framing the bride’s face and adding regal drama to her theme. Take a risk with the regal neckline look and pair it with a open back gown or mini dress.

The Red Bridal Gown

Red bridal gowns are the latest non-traditional wedding color of the spring. Designers Vera Wang and Oscar de la Renta made bold statements during NYC’s Spring 2013 Bridal Fashion Week with the auspicious color. Vera Wang’s spring 2013 lookbook stated, “Beautiful dream. The symbolism of Red. Boldly romantic, charming protective, grand seductive sexy. From dahlia to scarlet, crimson and vermilion. A celebration of love” was the idea behind her “Mei Meng” collection. This is a gorgeous bold statement for the daring bride who appreciates striking color and romance.

The Avant-Garde Gown

If average and predictable wedding gown is your exact opposite personality and you have a love for volume, whimsical flair, abstract bodices, and architectural layers of a grand gown then Avant-Garde fashion is for you. You can don’t need a license to thrill for making an unforgettable head turning fashion statement on your momentous day.  Here are a few breathe taking fashion forward options for the daring bride.
