Spiritual Rx: Lucky or Blessed?
“Luck is what happens when preparation meets opportunity.”
Seneca
“Luck is not chance- It’s Toil – Fortune’s expensive smile Is earned-”
Emily Dickinson
“Luck is the residue of design.”
John Milton
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper
you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
Jeremiah 29:11
To Practice This Thought:
Maybe it isn’t luck, maybe your steps are ordered. Maybe God loves and provides for you, and maybe you do has much to do with what you get. The path before you may seem long and lonely, but you do not walk alone. Look back, and you will find that goodness and mercy have been following you for years, and they are right behind you even now. This great field that is your life, plowed, planted and harvested, is a place where flora grows and birds sing because spring persists, even in the fall. Maybe it isn’t luck; maybe you are brighter than you think, and God is even better than we know. So, do not allow anyone to make you feel less than who you are: precious in this moment, abundant in possibilities, with a future whose length, breadth and depth are unlimited, and ultimately to be determined by God and you alone.
Dare to believe.
Amen
