How Three Young Black Venture Capitalists are Bringing Hope to the Community

Brandon Bryant, Venture Partner of Harlem
Capital Partners(HCP), is a Cleveland, Ohio native who
has a BS in Economics from The Ohio State University.
Bryant was featured on the 2019 Forbes Magazine’s 30
under 30 list, the 2019 Inc. Magazine’s 30 under 30 list,
as well as the 2018 Ebony Power 100 list. In addition to
being Black men who started a venture capital firm, it is
the companies HCP seek to invest in that also make
them very unique

“Over $100+ billion each year is invested into venture
capital but only a little less than 4% of that goes to
people of color and women combined, despite people
of color and women being 70% of the American
population,” Bryant responded when asked why the
company focuses on investing in minority and women
founders in the United States. The easiest way to
change that, the collective thought, was to invest in
companies created by those groups, and that is exactly
what HCP started doing.
