After the COVID-19 Pandemic erased a 2020 concert, Powerhouse NYC was back in 2021. Powerhouse NYC Power 105.1’s annual showcase concert of the station’s popular artists took place Sunday, November 21, 2021, and it didn’t disappoint. Artists such as Migos, Saweetie, Lil Baby, Roddy Ricch, Moneybagg Yo, Polo G, Bobby Shmurda, Fivio Foreign, Capella Grey, and  B Lovee, who kicked off the show, all performed as scheduled at Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.

But with such a massive lineup of stars on a New York-area stage, you expected to see numerous special appearances, and that didn’t disappoint either. Power 105.1’s own DJ Spinking brought out A Boogie wit da Hoodie, Sleepy Hollow, QRunItUp, Kay Flock, and New Jersey’s own Fetty Wap, who performed his ubiquitous 2015 hit “Trap Queen”, while Fivio Foreign was joined by Dream Doll for the hit “Ah Ah Ah.”.

Perhaps no one shined more than Saweetie, who represented for the women in hip-hop with her performance. She talked of a high-profile performance on Saturday Night Live the previous evening while giving the sold-out crowd hits like “Best Friend,” “Tap In”, and her first big hit, “My Type”.

Roddy Ricch created an emotional moment during his performance when he shared his last interaction with the hip-hop artist Young Dolph, who was murdered just four days earlier in Memphis, Tennessee, which had to be on the minds of many who hit the stage and in the audience. He told the crowd that the feelings that he had reminded him of when Nipsey Hussle was murdered in 2019.

The Atlanta collective Migos left the staging smoking after a set of about 30 minutes that included hits “Fight Night” “Walk It, Talk It” and “Bad and Boujee”. Migos also paid tribute to the slain artist, asking the crowd to shout “Long Live Young Dolph.”

After a year away that was difficult for us all around the world, Powerhouse NYC returned triumphantly in 2021, with a star-studded lineup and surprise guests that kept the crowd on their feet. Continue to tune in to Power 105.1 to listen to the music of the artists that performed at Powerhouse NYC 2021 and to get a glimpse of the artists that will take the stage next year!
