Harlem’s New Heritage Theatre Group (NHTG) (est. 1964), New York State’s oldest Black nonprofit theater, is honored that its youth division, Grammy and Oscar nominated IMPACT Repertory Theatre (IMPACT,) was selected to be a beneficiary of donations to be received from Japan’s 2025 Super Choir Charity Concert. The 2025 Super Choir Charity Concert “Blessing Juneteenth from Japan” will occur on June 19, 2025 at Sakura Hall in Shibuya, Tokyo.
The contributions will assist in sustaining and expanding IMPACT’s transformative programs, including The Impact Way, an initiative offering intergenerational arts and leadership training workshops for students, cultural organizations, and community members living in Harlem. Additionally, the donations will support IMPACT’s new residency at The City College of New York (CCNY), recently announced by CCNY President Vincent Boudreau, providing IMPACT with a new home, and enabling it to serve a greater number of young people.
This benefit is a long-standing creative collaboration between Japan, Zimbabwe, Cuba, and Harlem where young voices are integrated into a melody of powerful music around peace and understanding.
Attached are additional details for the concert where Impact is a beneficiary.
