This month, THT photographer and rising star Wesley Volcy (pictured above) conducted a photoshoot recognizing the community leaders who made the Chase Harlem Community Center Branch on 125th Street a successful hub for neighborhood finance and entrepreneurship. Taken in the spirit of the iconic 1958 Art Kane photograph, the photo commemorates the fifth anniversary of the first-of-its-kind community bank, right in Harlem. Its success in encouraging financial literacy, assisting small businesses, and building wealth in the community has given rise to 18 more Chase Community Centers across the country, including branches in Brooklyn and the Bronx opened earlier this year.
