Submissions

Present Your Event to Harlem

The Harlem Times welcomes submissions from venues, cultural institutions, producers and community organizations. Every listing is reviewed by our editors. To be considered, an event should meet the following standards.

  1. Harlem at heart. The event takes place in Harlem or Upper Manhattan, or is presented by a Harlem or African-diaspora institution.
  2. Of cultural value. Arts, music, theater, letters, philanthropy, enterprise or civic life that enriches the community.
  3. Submitted in good time. At least ten days before the event.
  4. Complete and accurate. Date, time, venue, address, admission and a working ticket or information link.
  5. Presented with polish. A high-resolution landscape photograph or artwork, and a description of 75 to 150 words.
  6. In good standing. Respectful and inclusive, and not a political campaign event or adult-oriented program.
Listings are free. Editors may edit or decline any submission. Featured Engagement placement and advertising packages are available for venues and presenters; indicate your interest on the form.
Landscape image, at least 1600 pixels wide, with no text-heavy layouts. A Dropbox, Google Drive or website link is fine.
75–150 words, written in the third person. Who, what, why it matters to Harlem.
