The Yankees won 10 championships in the 1940s and 1950s: 1941, 43, 47, 49, 1950, 51, 52, 53, 56 and 58.

The Yankees won five straight from 1949-1953, not from 1947 on.

The NY Giants won in 1954, but not in 1957 (Milwaukee Braves beat the Yanks).
