Children’s Books that are Great for the Entire Family

Author Carmen Rubin has been teaching and telling stories since she can remember. As a child, at the end of a school year, she would ask her teachers for leftover school assignments so that she could spend summer hours playing teacher to neighborhood kids.  It was a game Carmen and her friends found enjoyable.

It’s not a coincidence that she would grow up to become a teacher of students, life, and music, and an author.  Carmen Rubin’s priority is to educate students, school administrators, and parents about the importance of music in education.  She is a writer of children’s books which are inspired by music and/or the life of musicians.

Carmen’s titles include, Ashti Meets Birdman Al, which is about a little girl and a Jazz musician who save a school’s music program, and The Gifted Guitar, about a guitar that makes dreams come true to all who hears its song.  She is currently penning a new book titled New York and The Boogie Man. Carmen also has an inspirational book for adults entitled SocialEyes.

The author travels across the country to visit elementary schools, reading her stories and engaging students with her rhythmic storytelling style. In addition, Rubin is shopping for a television network that will run her new pre-school TV program called Sophie and GG. The show is about the  adventures of a seven-year-old and her guitar.
