Cape Town Central is the second most populous urban area in South Africa, and offers many unique family vacation destinations. Whether it is mountain biking, week-long animal safaris or paragliding, these activities and more can be included during a stay at one of the 105 hotels or one of the 473 vacation rentals in Cape Town Central.

In 2015, Cape Town Central was voted #9 on Trip Advisor’s Top 10 list of Travelers’ Choice World Destinations. Located on the southern tip of the African continent, the destination boasts breath taking views via mountain tops, beaches and African plains.
Spend some time at Kirstenbosch National Botanical Gardens, which is located within a short drive from “The Mother City.” Visit Robben Island, home of the prison that held Nelson Mandela for 27 years.

The Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve provides visitors with sea vistas, encounters with local wildlife and plenty of hiking trails.
Speaking of hiking trails, the knowledgeable staff at Hike Table Mountain is ready to provide you and your group with a guide that will find a hiking trail that meets your level. With over a combination of 90 hiking and/or climbing trails, they can provide each individual and group with a perfect experience. Hikes range in time from two hours round trip to a six hour, one-way hike.

Probably one of the most popular hikes at Table Mountain is the trail that leads to Skeleton Gorge. A very moderate trail, this hike lasts about four hours, and provides the largest range of scenic views. Hikers will follow a ravine that is covered in an indigenous jungle, ending up on slopes of indigenous shrubs, and eventually reach Maclear’s Beacon, the highest point on Table Mountain and Cape Peninsula. A quick, 15-minute detour will lead to a “beach” at the historic Table Mountain reservoirs. This route has been made popular due to the variety of floral zones and full range of panoramic views.
Looking for a different kind of extreme sport? The folks at Extreme Scene can create memories of your vacation from the skies, land and water.
How about getting up close and personal with the Great Whites? They offer shark cage diving, a three hour tour that even Gilligan would appreciate. If dry land is more your scene, join in the fun of sand boarding and/or quad biking.  Tandem Skydiving and Paragliding round out the extreme tours.

Fear not, animal lovers. There are plenty of safari tours available during your time at Cape Town Central. Tours leave out of Cape Town Central from a variety of companies. Length of the safaris range from a single day, one week, and up to three weeks, and range from a variety of animals within many national parks, family safaris and adventure tours.

Lodging options are plentiful as well. Villas, condos and apartments are readily available. Choose from mountain views, beachfront or downtown.

With its’ beautiful mountain and beach views, Cape Town Central is a great location for family vacations, honeymoons and romantic getaways.
